Laura Madonna Murray

The powerhouse performer and female-artist of the year nominee has been called the “10-finger orchestra”. Between 2022-2024, LMM had been integral to building “Melbourne’s secret house band to the stars”.
Laura's greatest successes over the past 5 years highlight her collaborative spirit: where there's one there'll be the other, Music & Friends. Themed shows like Songs from the Shores of Newfoundland (2024), Love for Lady Gaga (2025), Out On The Weekend: Harvest (2022), Out On The Weekend: The Linda Ronstadt Show (2023) saw Laura playing on some of the biggest stages Melbourne has to offer. Completing two national tours as a session pianist with M. Ward (2023) resulted in a shoutout on Norah Jones' podcast 'Norah Jones is Playing Along' and a reminder that the music industry is not for the faint of heart. LMM has warmed stages for the likes of Willie Watson and Sierra Ferrell but has the deepest admiration after working with industry legend Ella Hooper.
Her debut album, Solo/So High (2016) can be found on Apple Music. Previous live performance recordings with The Deadnecks “Live at the Mersh” and “Ned’s Shreds” Vol 1 & Vol 2 can be found on Spotify. Her unique project, Creatively Classical, which blends classical masterpieces with folk and rock favourites can be found on Youtube. “St. John’s: Play My Piano Forever” by Ivy C Lin can be found on Vimeo and highlights LMM’s humanity and love for pianos.

Solo/So High is a compilation of instrumental piano music showcasing the works of Mozart, Chopin, Gulda, and Canadian Composer, Oskar Morawetz through the artistry of Laura Madonna Murray. The 8 tracks feature the styles of Jazz, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century, within the genre collectively known as Classical Music.
Laura's debut release is available on Apple Music. Stream it from Bandcamp or Soundcloud or purchase a physical copy from Fred's Records..
On a cold winter's night in 2016, Laura Madonna Murray received an email requesting permission to film her performance at The Fifth Ticket piano bar.
Weary of scams, Laura realised the person already knew her name and where she was performing... That vigilance was quickly replaced with a warm friendship with Ivy! Ivy released her short documentary on vimeo in 2019. St. John's: Play My Piano Forever and shorter edits of the footage have been entered to various international film festivals and serves as a charming glimpse at Laura's passion for pianos (and people!). https://vimeo.com/317377881?fl=pl&fe=sh
